ROCKER BEATER LOOM #21:THE HARRISON COUNTY INDIANA LOOM

Located in a private residence nearNew Salisbury, Indiana

 

At Left: Wide view of front-right side of loom. Shedding system consists of three roller bars, four shafts, and six treadles.

At Right: Detailed view of hole-in-peg rocker. Rocker rests on block attached to loom frame with a carriage bolt, block can be adjusted forward and backward. Note lam system with five horizontal rows of holes in the frame.

This loom was discovered by the current owner's great aunt, after she purchased a farm in Harrison County Indiana, near New Middletown. The loom was passed, first to the current owner's grandmother, and later to her. There is no additional background information available on the loom.
