This loom was purchased by the current owner, from a neighbor, when she learned it was going to be destroyed. It is now in storage in her barn.

The loom is reported to have been originally owned by the Waskom family, one of Jackson County Indiana's earliest families. The family is known to have owned and operated a ferry in the area.

The Waskom family loom is estimated to have been built around 1850.
