ROCKER BEATER LOOM #35: THESOUTHERN ILLINOIS LOOM

Loom is at a private residence nearOsseo, Wisconsin

At Left: Wide view of front right side of loom, showing warp beam and bore staff, and a rear-loom support for the shedding system. Most of the shedding system is missing, but the number and placement of treadles indicate it was probably intended to be a two shaft loom.

Rockers are in place on the base of the loom frame, but the method of keeping them in place is not visible.

The only background information available at this time is that the present owner purchased this loom from a woman located near the Illinois/ Kentucky border, some 15 years ago, and that the loom had originally belonged to the previous owner's grandmother.
