At Left: Wide view of left side of loom, showing mid-loom support for shedding system. Note crossed legs. The treadles appear to have been attached to a missing weavers bench, or the floor, since the loom is not equipped with a treadle brace. At Right: Detailed view of rocker. Rockers are kept in place on base of loom by the peg-in-hole method. There are three pegs on the underside of the rockers, with corresponding holes (showing considerable wear) in the base of the loom. This loom was purchased in an antique shop in Riner, Virginia. No other information is available on its background. |
