ROCKER BEATER LOOM #62: THE HENRY DAVIS LOOM

Currently at the Fiddlers Grove Historic Village in Lebanon, Tennessee

At Left: Wide view of front right side of loom.

At Right: Detail view of rocker. Rockers are kept in place on base of loom with canvas straps.

The loom is made of chestmut, walnut, pine and ash, and the original reed was made of bamboo.

The loom was built by Henry Davis of Statesville, TN, as a wedding gift for William and Sarah Ricketts Kelley, whose marriage took place on September 14, 1865.

The Henry Davis Loom is now on loan to Fiddlers Grove, a historic village located at the Wilson County Fairgrounds in Lebanon, Tennessee.  The village is open to the public, and at county fair time in August, the loom is warped and in operation.
