Left: wide view of right side of
loom. At Right: detail view of left rocker. Rockers are of the peg-in-hole variety, with a series of three holes in the underside of the rocker and three pegs in the rocker mount. The owner of this loom
is a practicing artist who first learned to weave in college, as part
of her academic training. At the time she noticed this loom in an
antique shop near Camdenton, Missouri, in 2002, she hadn’t woven in
years. Attracted by loom’s aesthetic beauty, she purchased it on
the spot. Her intension was to restore it so she could begin weaving
again – but finding time was problematic. It has only been recently,
after relocating and retiring, that she has finally been able to start
the restoration process.
