ROCKER BEATER LOOM #7: THELOOM AT ADAM'S MILL

In working order at Adam's MillMuseum, Cutler, Indiana

At Left: Wide view of right side of loom. Each rocker has three rocker pegs on the underside, and there are corresponding holes in the rocker platform. The counterbalanced shedding system consists of two pullies, and two shafts with treadles.

The builder and previous owners of this loom are unknown. The loom had been in storage for many years. When found, it appeared to have had pieces of the frame cut out, probably to make it fit into a room.

In 1995 the loom was rebuilt and restored by Holgar Scmidt-Hamman, and placed in Adam's Mill Museum (an operating grain mill).

The Adam's Mill Museum is open on weekends and for special events, May through October.
