PINNED BEATER LOOM #3: THESPANISH COLONIAL LOOM

Loom is in the Taos Historical Museum in Taos, NewMexico

At Left: Wide view of right-rear side of loom. The large mid-loom timber obstructs most of the beater mechanism, but a small part can be seen just above the lower side rail.

At Right: Wide view of rear-right side of loom. A little more of the beater mechanism can be seen just to the inside of the large mid-loom timber. Note large warp beam barrel at rear of loom.

I came across this loom while tracking down Loom #32, the one Rita Adrosko discovered in Taos, New Mexico, in the 1980s. The museum assumed I meant this loom and I had a Taos friend go to out and photograph it. Once I recieved the pictures I realized it was not the right loom. I include it here because it is an interesting style, and it does seem to have a standing beater. As far as I know, it has no relevance to my research.
